Another shot in the Lobby of the Resort. The glass wall runs up 7 stories. Because of a layer of dirt, it helps to diffuse the light a lot, creating some nice light at the right time of day.

June 27th, 2010Steady on her feet
June 25th, 2010We stopped for lunch at a rather nice restaurant in the middle of a poor section of Mexico. They provided a show of traditional dances. It was not overly exciting, but when they started with the bottles on the heads it perked my interest. Mainly for the same reason NASCAR has so many fans. Its not the dance/race…. its the crashes! But they have mastered this! The bottle did not even so much as wiggle. Very impressive.
Accidental Softbox
June 23rd, 2010We were waiting for one of the resorts restaurants to open. This is the entrance area to that restaurant. We had first seating so the lights were not turned in yet. We decided to take some pictures while we waited. The entrance hallway is about 12 foot wide. And almost everything out side the door is a sand color. And with the sun shining rather intensely, the glass, basically turned into a 8 foot by 12 foot softbox. It gave some beautiful light. Just had to balance the color, and done.
La Isla at Night
June 18th, 2010Evening Sky
June 16th, 2010Another Shot taken at La Isla in Cancun. The sky was rather unremarkable that night until about 5 minutes before sunset. The clouds that created an overcast to the sky broke up rather quickly. And only the higher clouds remained. With the sun so low in the sky. The lower half of the clouds were in shade. But the upper half were still in bight sun.

June 13th, 2010Cancun Getaway
June 12th, 2010We took a trip to Cancun Mexico. The resort next door looked to be abandoned half way through a renovation. But I love how the buildings looked thrown together. And how some have domes on the top floor. I would have loved to go and shoot for a few hours there and grab some images. But I didn’t know if it was being guarded or not. Or what might happen if I was caught on the property. So I left it alone.
